I was born in Detroit, Michigan and moved to the Chicago area before starting school and living there through high school. I attended Northwestern University on a wrestling scholarship. I left Northwestern to continue my education at University of Illinois Medical Center, where I received my D.D.S. degree with honors. My oral and maxillofacial surgery residency was completed at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Parkland Memorial Hospital and affiliated institutions, where I served as chief resident my last year.

Dr. Kurt E. Bruksch
Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Dr. Bruksch was raised in the Chicagoland area. He attended Northwestern University and was two-time All-Big Ten shortstop for the baseball team prior to receiving his dental and oral surgical training at University of Illinois at Chicago and University of Minnesota. He is Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and past president of the Illinois Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (ISOMS). For many years, Dr. Bruksch was Chairman of the ISOMS Anesthesia Committee, overseeing anesthesia safety protocols in oral and maxillofacial surgical offices throughout the state.

Dr. Adam M. Ozment
Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
I was born in Cherry Point, North Carolina and raised in Plainfield, Indiana. My undergraduate studies were completed at Indiana University in Bloomington, where I received a B.S. in Biology. I completed my dental undergraduate studies at Indiana University School of Dentistry. My oral and maxillofacial surgery residency was completed at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. I joined the OMS practice shortly after completion of residency.

Dr. John J. Richard
Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
I was born and raised in Dearborn, Michigan. I attended the University of Michigan-Dearborn as an undergraduate and graduated from The University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Upon graduation from dental school, I served three years as a dental officer in the U.S. Navy. I completed a one year general practice residency at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton. Over the next two years I practiced general dentistry at various naval stations including Pt Mugu Naval Air Weapons Station in Oxnard, California and Roosevelt Roads Naval Base in Puerto Rico.

Dr. Bryan J. VanOven
Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
I was born in Newport, Arkansas and raised in Comanche, Oklahoma. After high school, I served five years in the United States Army. During the course of enlistment, I served as an Airborne Infantry Medic with the 82nd Airborne Division. Upon completion of active duty I began undergraduate studies at the University of Oklahoma. I completed my dental studies at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry while serving as a dental officer in the United States Army Reserves.
